Data Exchange with AI Services: In order to enhance functionality and user experience, our app integrates with advanced artificial intelligence services powered by large language models (LLMs). When you use our app to create content, certain data inputs may be transmitted to these AI services for processing. This data exchange is conducted to generate relevant content suggestions and improvements. We take your privacy seriously and ensure that only the necessary data is shared, which is anonymised and protected using industry-standard encryption methods. The AI service providers are bound by strict data protection obligations and are not permitted to use your data for any purpose other than delivering the requested services.

Non-disclosure of sensitive data: We are committed to safeguarding your sensitive information. We do not share, sell, rent, or disclose any sensitive personal data such as financial information, or other confidential details with third parties, except as required by law. Your privacy and trust are of utmost importance to us, and we take all necessary measures to ensure your data remains secure.

How long do we keep your information?

In short: We keep your information for as long as necessary to fulfil the purposes outlined in this privacy policy unless otherwise required by law.

We will only keep your personal information for as long as it is necessary for the purposes set out in this privacy policy unless a longer retention period is required or permitted by law (such as tax, accounting or other legal requirements). No purpose in this notice will require us keeping your personal information for longer than the period of time in which the users have an account with us. 

If a subscription is cancelled, customer data will be held for up to 60 days and deleted permanently. If you would like the data to be removed earlier, you can inform us by email – hello@saystory.co.

 

How do we keep your information safe? 

In short: We aim to protect your personal information through a system of organisational and technical security measures. 

We maintain a standard information security policy aligned with AWS’s guidelines, which we regularly update to reflect best practices and compliance requirements. AWS holds several certifications that apply to EC2 and S3 services, including ISO 27001, SOC 1, SOC 2, and SOC 3. These certifications cover AWS’s infrastructure, and the scope includes

compute and storage services such as EC2 and S3. We implement various security controls, including access management, data encryption, and regular audits to safeguard our information assets. 

We are willing to provide customers with the physical location of their data storage upon request, as per AWS’s compliance with transparency.

However, despite our safeguards and efforts to secure your information, no electronic transmission over the internet or information storage technology can be guaranteed to be 100% secure, so we cannot promise or guarantee that hackers, cyber criminals or other unauthorised third parties will not be able to defeat our security and improperly collect, assess, steal or modify your information. Although we do our best to protect your personal information, transmission of personal information to and from our Services is at your own risk. You should only access the services within a secure environment. 

 

Do we collect information from minors? 

In short: Our services are not for those under the age of 18, we do not knowingly collect data from or market to children under 18 years of age.

By using the Services, you represent that you are at least 18 or that you are the parent or guardian of such a minor and consent to such minor dependents’ use of the Services. If we learn that personal information from users less than 18 years of age has been collected, we will deactivate the account and take reasonable measures to promptly delete such data from our records. not to be subjected to automated decision-making. In certain circumstances you may also have the right to object to the processing of your personal information. You can make such a request by contacting us by using the contact details provided in the section – ‘How can you contact us about this notice’.

We will consider an act upon any requests in accordance with applicable data protection laws. 

If you are located in the EEA or UK and you believe we are unlawfully processing your personal information, you also have the right to complain to your member state data protection authority, or UK Data Protection Authority. 

If you’re located in Switzerland, you may contact the federal data protection and Information Commissioner.

Withdrawing your consent: If we are relying on your consent to process your personal information, which may be express and/or implied consent depending on the applicable law, you have the right to withdraw your consent at any time. You can withdraw your consent at any time by contacting us by using the contact details provided in the section ‘How can you contact us about this notice’ below or updating your preferences. 

However, please note that this will not affect the lawfulness of the processing before its withdrawal nor, when applicable law allows, will it affect the processing of your personal information conducted in reliance on lawful processing grounds other than consent.

Opting out of marketing and promotional communications: You can unsubscribe from our marketing and promotional communications at any time by clicking on the unsubscribe link in the emails that we send or by contacting us using the details provided in this section – ‘How can you contact us about this notice’ below. You will then be removed from the marketing lists. However, we may still communicate with you – for example, to send you service-related messages that are necessary for the administration and use of your account, to respond to service requests, or for other non marketing purposes.

Upon your request to terminate your account, we will deactivate or delete your account and information from our active databases. However, we may retain some information in our files to prevent fraud, troubleshoot problems, assist with any investigations, enforce our legal terms and/or comply with applicable legal requirements.

Controls for Do-Not-Track features 

Most web browsers and some mobile operating systems and mobile applications include a Do-Not-Track (DNT) feature or setting you can activate to signal your privacy preference not to have data about your online browsing activities monitored and collected. At this stage no uniform technology standard for recognising and implementing DNT signals has been finalised. As such, we do not currently respond to DNT browser signals or any other mechanism that automatically communicates your choice not to be tracked online. If a standard for online tracking is adopted that we must follow in the future, we will inform you about that practice in a revised version of this privacy policy.

In short: Yes, we will update this notice as necessary to stay compliant with relevant laws. 

We may update this privacy notice from time to time. The updated version will be indicated by an updated ‘Revised’ date and the updated version will be effective as soon as it is accessible.
